Poetry to people of Ferguson, Missouri (US), in solidarity for all freedom fighters

People are dying, mother

In memory of Solano Trindade,
the poet of the people

To people of Ferguson, Missouri (US),
in solidarity for all freedom fighters

People are dying
Day and night
People are dying
In perpetual whipping
People are dying
In the ghettos and slums
People are dying
By the open wounds

People are dying, mother
People are dying!

People are dying
Perforated by bullets
People are dying
By appointment
People are dying
Driven by uniform
People are dying
Vanishing from the map

People are dying, mother
People are dying!

People are dying
marked suspect
People are dying
And face what will have to be faced
People are dying
That takes in the face
People are dying
The way back home

People are dying, mother
People are dying!

People are dying
That is very much needed
People are dying
While another cries
People are dying
Tired of this story
People are dying
Only fuels the insurgency

People are dying, mother
People are dying!
